Holland Woodcrafters Inc.

Organization and good work habits form strong teams. And with the strength of "da Bears" defense, the team at Holland Woodcrafters Inc. demonstrates this truth in every project.

Holland specializes in producing quality commercial casework, retail store fixtures, and residential cabinetry for national retail suppliers, schools, hospitals, commercial clients, and private residences. It also provides cut-to-size services for smaller cabinet shops.

It's evident that owner Arnie Holland values his team as much as Mike Ditka treasured the legendary '85 Monsters of the Midway. "The one thing I look for in my team members is a strong work ethic," he says. "They don't have to have a lot of experience, but they have to be willing to learn and to work hard. I can train just about anybody to work the equipment, but I can't teach a work ethic. That's a choice they make themselves. All of my people have that, or they wouldn't be here. There would be no Holland Woodcrafters without the team."

Adapting to changing markets is a strategy that helped Holland reach their 20th anniversary in 2013. "We used to do most of our work for a national furniture and home décor chain," says Holland. "When the economy crashed, we decided we had to diversify, so we went after high-end retail, POP (point of purchase), and commercial work. Our equipment fits all of the criteria for that kind of work and our team here is very skilled, so we've had some success at it."

Holland Woodcrafters was located for most of its life in Franklin Park before moving in 2010 to a 17,000-square-foot facility at 2680 American Lane in Elk Grove Village. "The area and the building were right for us at the time," says Holland, "so we made the move to our new location with the same tradition of quality, integrity, and customer service."

Its state-of-the art facility includes a CNC (computer numerical control) router, a beam saw, a dowel insertion machine, an edge bander, a case clamp, in-house CAD (computer aided design) and CAM (computer aided manufacturing) technology, and CNC programming. Holland's 14 permanent employees are cross-trained to use the various machines. Many of them have been with the company from its beginning. Fielding this versatile crew with a depth of product knowledge and a winning attitude keeps Holland at the top of their game.
