GC Realty and Development LLC

During the recent economic down turn, the real estate market has fallen on some difficult times. No one knows that better than GC Realty & Development, which specializes in helping small to mid-sized companies buy or lease business premises.

GC Realty & Development is no stranger to bouncing back from adversity. Mark Ainley, the current president and managing broker of GC Realty, helped his best friend John Chiariello build the business when Chiariello founded the company in 2003. Shortly after Chiariello's tragic death in 2006, Ainley and his current partner, Bryan Sonn, bought out Chiariello's share of the business from his family and carried on the original name and ideas John Chiariello had envisioned for the company.

Mark and Bryan wasted no time adding key players and industry leaders to their team. They quickly hired Brad Bullington, who had been co-founder of Brown Commercial Group in Elk Grove. Brad contributed extensive experience in selling buildings, tenant representation, and filling vacancies in multi-unit facilities. Together with the help of their 30 contractors/employees, GC Realty has gone on to successfully sell and lease several hundred properties along the I-90 business corridor & western suburbs.

Although based in Bartlett, GC Realty whose initials stand for "Greater Chicagoland," though the partners joke that it can also stand for "Great Choice," conducts much of its business in Elk Grove Village and the surrounding O'Hare market. Seventy percent of the commercial brokerage and buildings it manages are in the O'Hare Airport market, and approximately Sixty percent of those are in Elk Grove.

For example, GC Realty helped Sankosha USA sell its building at 1550 Louis Avenue and move to their new U.S. headquarters at 1901 Landmeier Road. GC Realty also assisted the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce/Greater O'Hare Association when they left their previous location of 22 years and signed them up for a 10 year deal at their current site. Other major companies GC Realty has worked with over the years include American Chartered Bank, Broadway Electric, C. J. Vitner Co., First American Bank, Coca Cola, RREEF, Orsini Healthcare, SERVEPRO, Sprint Electrical Service, Supreme Carpet Cleaning, Supreme Tamale Co., and the Zilber Property Group.

Ainley credits GC Realty's recovery from the recession to the vitality of the Elk Grove area and to the company's service ethic.

"We've become an industry leader in the area by simply being timely, accessible, and creative along with knowing everything about the local market," Ainley explains. "By that, we mean that our response time to a customer's inquiry is immediate and with all the facts. We found that when people are provided the information they are looking for in a timely manner, this translates to their needs being met and a deal getting consummated."
